The Witch Trials Descend on Party Night

The new PV opens with the line “The Witch Trials Descend on Party Night,” directly mixing the identity of Magical Girl Witch Trials with Astral Party's board-game world.

Its narration says the doors of the Anomalous Library quietly open as the invited girls step inside to face a trial. That gives the crossover a clearer narrative setup than the original August 7 announcement, which primarily revealed its start date and four featured characters.

For now, however, Anomalous Library has only been presented through the PV's narrative. It has not been confirmed as a dedicated playable board.

Sherry and Hanna Take the Spotlight

The PV closes by asking what fate awaits the “Mighty Detective” and “Framed Heiress” when the dice are rolled.

The first description strongly fits Tachibana Sherry, a self-proclaimed great detective whose official magic is superhuman strength. The “Mighty” wording plays naturally into that combination of detective persona and unusual physical power.

The second points toward Tono Hanna. Her official profile describes her as someone who acts like a noble heiress despite actually coming from a very poor family. Her magic is levitation.

Ema and Hiro Remain Part of the Original Collaboration Visual

Although the latest PV puts more attention on Sherry and Hanna, the first collaboration visual featured four Magical Girl Witch Trials characters.

Those characters are Sakuraba Ema, Nikaido Hiro, Tachibana Sherry, and Tono Hanna.

All four are therefore officially connected to the collaboration's promotional material. Astral Party has not yet clarified whether they will all be playable characters, skins, event characters, NPCs, or appear through another format.

Astral Party's Dice Mechanics Fit the PV's “Fate” Theme

Astral Party is an online board party game for up to four players, using 15 types of board-panel effects, random events, cards, character skills, and dice rolls.

Its one-on-one battles also revolve around dice. Players can use cards to strengthen attack or defense, while defensive rolls can create opportunities to avoid damage.

That makes the PV's question about what fate the characters will “roll” more than a metaphor—the dice are one of Astral Party's core gameplay systems.

The Collaboration Follows Manosaba's 600,000-Sale Milestone

Magical Girl Witch Trials originally launched on Steam on July 18, 2025, before receiving its Nintendo Switch version on July 9, 2026.

Ahead of the Switch release, Re,AER announced that the Steam version had surpassed 600,000 copies sold.

The game follows 13 girls confined inside an isolated prison estate and forced into witch trials once murder cases begin. Investigation, magical abilities, lies, and identifying the witch form the core of its mystery.

Collaboration Gameplay Details Are Still Being Held Back

The August 28 PV provides a much stronger sense of the event's theme, but it does not yet explain how the crossover will function mechanically.

Character skills, rarity, banners or acquisition methods, costumes, new cards, stages, bosses, event currency, missions, rewards, and the full event duration remain unannounced.

With the crossover only days away, those details are still awaiting a dedicated Astral Party update ahead of or around September 3.

Why This Matters

1) The collaboration finally has a narrative identity

The original announcement mainly delivered characters and a date. The Anomalous Library and trial setup now explain how the atmosphere of Manosaba is being brought into Astral Party.

2) Sherry and Hanna fit a dice-driven crossover surprisingly well

The PV directly connects their identities with fate and dice rolls, tying its character-focused copy into one of Astral Party's fundamental mechanics.

3) Four characters are known, but their roles remain a mystery

Ema, Hiro, Sherry, and Hanna all appear in official promotional material, while the game continues to withhold whether they are playable or serve different event roles.
