20% Off Until the Beginning of September

Munin Nagisawa announced the Steam promotion on August 25 as part of Yuri Game Selection 2026 presented by Yurilyrical.

The Japanese price drops from ¥1,200 to ¥960. Regional Steam pricing varies, with the Indonesian 20%-off tier corresponding to Rp65,999 from Rp82,499 and the U.S. price moving from US$8.99 to US$7.19.

The event ends on September 1 at 12:00 AM JST.

Gisela's First Reaction to Aisha Is to Devour Her

Drowning Song takes place in a world shared by humans and non-human races. Deep beneath the sea lives a carnivorous species persecuted for its appearance and nature.

Gisela was born unusually beautiful for her kind, but that only deepened her obsession with beauty. When she encounters Aisha—the most beautiful human she has ever seen—admiration immediately collides with envy and the desire to kill and eat her.

The story gradually reveals their histories, emotions, and the reasons their relationship develops into something far more complicated.

Four Endings Follow the Player's Choices

Drowning Song is a point-and-click visual novel primarily built around reading and making decisions at key points.

Those choices influence Gisela and Aisha's relationship and lead toward four different endings. Reaching at least one ending also unlocks an extra story.

Chapter selection, a glossary, and a gallery make it easier to revisit previously discovered scenes and illustrations.

A Picture Book Hides a Much Darker Story

Visually, the game uses picture-book-style illustrations and animated effects to build its deep-sea fairy-tale atmosphere.

The contrast comes from the subject matter. Steam explicitly warns of murder, mutilation, suicide, torture, human trafficking, and other disturbing themes.

Most of the heavier material is conveyed through text, although visible bloodshed is also present.

The 14-Track Soundtrack Has Its Own Bundle

The Original Soundtrack launched alongside the game and contains 14 tracks.

Okka composed the score, with performance credits also listing Yūka Yuka and Munin Nagisawa. Tracks include “Aisha's Song,” while the final piece shares the game's title.

The base game and soundtrack are available together in an OST Bundle, which the developer says is also cheaper during the promotion.

Yuri Game Selection Brings Together Around 50 Titles

Yuri Game Selection 2026 is organized by dedicated yuri-media outlet Yurilyrical / ゆりりかる.

Approximately 50 games from Japanese and international developers and publishers are participating, with discounts reaching as high as 75%. The selection ranges from conventional girls' love visual novels to games centered on especially strong relationships and emotional bonds between women.

Yurilyrical has also previously recommended Drowning Song for its darker approach to yuri, discrimination, beauty standards, and the relationship between Gisela and Aisha.

Why This Matters

1) The 20% sale returns it to its lowest discount tier

A 20% cut matches the lowest price tier previously recorded for the game on SteamDB.

2) Its yuri story grows out of a species conflict

Gisela and Aisha's relationship develops between two people divided by species, lived experience, prejudice, and very different positions within their world.

3) It is short but still offers multiple routes

At roughly 3–5 hours, four endings and a post-clear extra story encourage replaying decisions without demanding a massive time investment.
