Teaser PV and Anime Visual

All Four Central Characters Are Finally Heard

The teaser features Reiji Kawashima as Hizashi Hiruno, Hikaru Tono as Rei Kuromiya, Iori Noguchi as Sakura Akai, and Ami Maeshima as Sora Konno.

It also begins establishing the contrast between ordinary school life and the idol world, including the gap between Rei's polished public image and the side of herself she keeps hidden from others.

A Secret That Begins in Remedial Class

Hizashi is a first-year student at an elite high school who takes his academics seriously. A mistake on his answer sheet leaves him with a disastrous score and sends him to remedial lessons.

There he discovers Rei Kuromiya. Despite her reputation as a talented idol, she is also struggling academically, leading Hizashi to quietly begin helping her study after school.

Gekkou Handles Animation Production

The adaptation is directed by Hikaru Sato, with Fumihiko Shimo handling series composition and scripts. Kibidango No. 14 provides the character designs, while Satoru Kousaki & MONACA handle the music.

Gekkou is producing the animation, with Ryo Aizawa of Starry Cube credited as producer.

From New York Comic Con to April 2027

The teaser PV received its first screening at New York Comic Con 2026 before its Japanese online release on October 9.

April 2027 remains the only confirmed broadcast window. A specific premiere date, broadcaster, streaming service and theme songs have not yet been announced.

Why This Matters

1) The anime finally shows how Hizashi and Rei's chemistry translates to animation

Their relationship begins with something deliberately small—quiet study sessions after school—before developing into romance.

2) Iori Noguchi brings real idol experience to an idol character

The =LOVE member voices Sakura Akai, one of the members of Aiiro Impulse within the story.

3) The adaptation arrives while the manga is still active

Nine Japanese volumes have already been released, while Yen Press continues publishing the licensed English edition.
