Akane Rin Performs NTE's Version

The NTE version retains the original songwriting credits, with Aki Hata and Satoru Kosaki listed for lyrics and music.

The major change is the vocalist. Akane Rin performs the new cover, with Ikumi Hasegawa voicing the character, while NTE explicitly credits Aya Hirano as the original vocalist.

The Song Enters the Game on October 21

The special animation arrives nearly a week before the song itself becomes available inside NTE.

October 21 is also a key date in the Version 1.4 roadmap. NTE's official patch notes identify it as the second update following the initial September 30 launch of “For Whom the Verses Mourn.”

Eligible players are also scheduled to receive Akane's “House Special” outfit and Fons x2,000,000 through in-game mail after that update.

“God knows...” Returns Through an NTE Character

“God knows...” was originally released as a Haruhi Suzumiya character song performed by Aya Hirano and appeared on Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsumeawase in June 2006.

Rather than simply bringing the original recording into NTE, the game has produced its own character cover with Akane Rin on vocals, tying the song directly to NTE's cast and presentation.

NTE's official caption also teases that a “certain legendary band's” story is far from over, although the announcement does not provide a formal name or further explanation.

Why This Matters

1) Akane receives a cover of a major anime song

Choosing “God knows...” immediately links the release to one of the most recognizable anime songs of the 2000s.

2) It is more than a promotional video

The cover itself will become available in the game on October 21.

3) The animation leads into the second Version 1.4 update

NTE is using the release to build toward the next phase of Version 1.4 and Akane-related content.
