Volume 4 Cover and Manga Adaptation

A Summer Vacation That Was Supposed to Be Easier
Kazuki has spent his second life constantly acting to avoid the worst possible future that destroyed him the first time around.
When summer vacation finally arrives, he travels to Okinawa with friends. The trip creates room for a lighter part of his school life, although Kazuki still cannot consider his relationship with Mikoto settled.
That emotional uncertainty becomes the backdrop for Volume 4 before another problem appears on the beach.
Futada Hiromi Appears Earlier Than She Should
In Okinawa, Kazuki is suddenly approached by Futada Hiromi.
He immediately recognizes the name. In his first life, Hiromi was one of the heroines who appeared around Amada during the following school term and became known as the “Crazy Maid.”
The problem is timing. This meeting is not supposed to happen yet, and every deviation from the timeline Kazuki remembers makes his first-life knowledge less reliable.
Hiromi Wants Kazuki to Pretend to Be Her Boyfriend
Their first encounter quickly becomes more complicated when Hiromi asks Kazuki to pretend to be her boyfriend.
For Kazuki, the situation is suspicious not only because he knows where Hiromi fit into the first timeline, but because he is supposed to be nothing more than a background character outside Amada's heroine routes.
Volume 4 once again plays with the series' central irony: the harder Kazuki tries to escape the romantic comedy, the more its heroines move directly into his path.
Kazuki and Mikoto Still Have Unfinished Business
At the same time, Kazuki continues struggling with his own feelings toward Mikoto Hidaka.
Mikoto was supposed to be Amada's central heroine in the first life, yet Kazuki's return to the past changed that route dramatically and caused her to move toward him instead.
Volume 4 therefore does more than expand the heroine roster. It keeps asking whether Kazuki can still call himself a mere supporting character when his second life continues drifting farther from the original scenario.
The Manga Is Now Catching Up With the Light Novel
Outside the novels, the franchise has recently expanded through a manga adaptation.
The manga by Sui Hokuto, with Rakuda credited for the original work and Komupi for character design, began serialization in Comic Dengeki Daiohji VOL.154 on June 29, 2026.
Chapter 1 later became available through Kadokomi on July 28. Its official page currently lists the next web update for August 28, 2026, while Chapter 2 has already appeared in Comic Dengeki Daiohji VOL.155.
The Series Also Ranked in Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2026
Before reaching its fourth volume, the series received recognition in Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2026.
KADOKAWA lists Shujinkou no Osananajimi ga, Mobu no Ore ni Guigui Kuru at No. 7 in the New Work Bunko category.
The result arrived during the series' first publication year after Volume 1 launched in January 2025. It has since grown into a four-volume novel series with an active manga adaptation.
Why This Matters
1) Kazuki's timeline knowledge is becoming less dependable
Hiromi appears at a different point than she did in his first life, making it harder for Kazuki to rely on past memories as a perfect survival guide.
2) Romantic comedy and second-life suspense still operate together
A fake-boyfriend setup sounds like a classic romcom trope, but every new heroine is also a potential danger to Kazuki because he remembers how badly the original timeline ended.
3) The franchise is entering an expansion phase
Four light novel volumes now run alongside a newly launched manga adaptation that is still receiving active updates.
