Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter Airs in 2027, Casts Kana Hanazawa and Kazuhiko Inoue

TV anime Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter is officially set to air in 2027. Its October 8, 2026 update introduced the first Main Visual and first Main PV while confirming Kana Hanazawa as Eve and Kazuhiko Inoue as Nem.

Adapted from Ichi Yukishiro's manga, the fantasy story begins when an abandoned girl is found in the Forest of Scraps by an elderly dragon nearing the end of his life. Their unusual parent-child relationship eventually leads them beyond the forest and into human society, where “connections, money, and bones” become a particularly memorable guide to survival.

> Light spoiler notice: the official premise below discusses Nem's transformation into a bone dragon, which has already been revealed through the anime's official synopsis and PV.

First Main PV and Main Visual

Eve and Nem Finally Have Voices

The first Main PV provides the first extended look at Kana Hanazawa as Eve and Kazuhiko Inoue as Nem.

Eve comes across as energetic and spontaneous, while Nem carries the calmer, protective presence of an aging dragon who has become her parent. That relationship forms the emotional core of the story.

Hanazawa emphasized Eve's free-spirited way of living, while Inoue highlighted the warmth of the bond that begins with their encounter.

From the Forest of Scraps to Human Society

The story begins in the Forest of Scraps, a place where discarded things end up. There, Nem discovers the young Eve and chooses to raise her.

Nem eventually dies, but Eve's ability to summon his soul brings him back in the form of a bone dragon.

Concerned about Eve's future, he decides that they must travel toward human settlements and build the connections she will need to live independently.

Doga Kobo Animates, KUSANAGI Builds the Backgrounds

Doga Kobo is producing the animation, while KUSANAGI is responsible for background art.

Kuniyasu Nishina directs, Yuka Yamada handles series composition, and Tomoya Atsumi serves as character designer.

The first Main PV begins to show how the adaptation is translating the manga's fantasy environments, from Eve's forest home to the wider world waiting beyond it.

October 8 Reveal Tied to “Bone Day”

The latest announcement was deliberately released on October 8, promoted around “Bone Day.”

Alongside the cast, PV, and Main Visual, the production launched a campaign through the anime's official X account. Entries remain open until October 22, 2026 at 23:59 JST, with signed postcards featuring Kana Hanazawa and Kazuhiko Inoue offered as prizes.

Why This Matters

1) The first PV centers Eve and Nem's relationship

The adaptation is not being sold solely through fantasy action; its unusual family bond is clearly the main attraction.

2) Nem is much more than a monster companion

He acts as Eve's parent and actively plans for her future among humans.

3) Doga Kobo and KUSANAGI split two major sides of the production

Doga Kobo handles animation while KUSANAGI creates the fantasy environments surrounding Eve and Nem's journey.
