Navier Takes Control of Her Own Future

Navier was raised to be an empress and entered a political marriage with Sovieshu. Their relationship begins to collapse after Sovieshu brings Rashta into the palace and makes her his concubine.

When Sovieshu eventually demands a divorce, Navier does not fight to preserve the marriage. She accepts—but asks for approval to remarry Heinrey, a decision that reshapes both the personal and political balance surrounding the four central characters.

The anime is also part of a broader partnership between HAYATE, LINE Digital Frontier and Crunchyroll to develop anime adaptations based on WEBTOON titles. Crunchyroll plans to stream the resulting projects in select territories, although the specific regions for The Remarried Empress have not yet been detailed.

The Webtoon Has Reached 2.97 Billion Views

The original series brings significant scale into the anime project. LINE Digital Frontier reports approximately 630 million views in Japan and 2.97 billion global views as of July 2026.

A Japanese print edition is published by Shueisha, while Ize Press publishes the English physical edition. The 2027 anime arrives while a separate Korean live-action adaptation is also expanding the franchise.

Why This Matters

1) A major WEBTOON title is receiving a Japanese TV anime

TROYCA is adapting one of the platform's most widely viewed romance-fantasy series.

2) The four central characters already have their voice cast

Yoko Hikasa, Ryohei Kimura, Tomoaki Maeno and Reina Ueda were all introduced with the first announcement.

3) The franchise is expanding through two adaptations

The Korean live-action version arrives in 2026, while the separate Japanese anime follows in 2027.
