Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES Gets Three-Episode Evil★Twin Animation Starting January 2027

Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES will make Evil★Twin its next animation theme beginning in January 2027. The official Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG account announced that the story will span three episodes, continuing the promotional short anime project built around bringing the worlds and characters depicted across Yu-Gi-Oh! cards to life.

Evil★Twin in Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES

Three New Episodes Begin in January 2027

The latest announcement is specific about two points: Evil★Twin will become an animation theme, and its story will be delivered across three episodes starting in January 2027.

That places it directly within Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES, a project designed to turn worlds previously communicated largely through card artwork, names, effects and inter-card relationships into animated stories.

KONAMI has not yet provided specific release dates for the three episodes. THE CHRONICLES has generally followed a monthly release model, but no official schedule currently assigns individual January, February or later dates to each Evil★Twin episode.

Episode titles, runtime, cast and full synopsis also remain unavailable. The only confirmed schedule at this stage is therefore a January 2027 start and a total of three episodes.

That footage arrived while Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES was still an anniversary animation showcase, before KONAMI expanded the concept into an ongoing promotional short anime series in 2025.

The 2027 project is therefore not Ki-sikil and Lil-la's animation debut. What changes is that Evil★Twin is now receiving a dedicated three-episode storyline.

Ki-sikil and Lil-la Originated as a 2020 OCG Theme

Live☆Twin and Evil★Twin officially entered Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG through Deck Build Pack - Genesis Impactors, released in Japan on September 12, 2020.

The theme revolves primarily around Ki-sikil and Lil-la.

In their Live☆Twin forms, the pair are Level 2 Cyberse monsters designed to bring out one another. Live☆Twin Ki-sikil can summon a Lil-la monster when its field condition is met, while Live☆Twin Lil-la performs the corresponding action for Ki-sikil.

Their relationship continues through the Link Monsters Evil★Twin Ki-sikil and Evil★Twin Lil-la, which can also bring the opposite partner back into play.

The archetype additionally includes Evil★Twins Ki-sikil & Lil-la, representing both characters together in a single monster.

That makes their partnership more than a piece of artwork or implied lore. The paired identity is embedded directly into the deck's gameplay, giving the animation a clearly established relationship and visual concept to build upon.

CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES Keeps Bringing Card Lore to Life

KONAMI first presented the special Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES video at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: The Legend of Duelist QUARTER CENTURY event at Tokyo Dome in February 2024.

The response to its animated interpretations of different monsters eventually led to a larger project.

In December 2024, KONAMI announced that THE CHRONICLES would become a promotional short anime series, releasing new episodes monthly from April 2025 through the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG YouTube channel.

Its first regular storyline was Sky Striker Ace, covering Raye and Roze across April and May 2025.

The series then moved through The Fallen & The Virtuous, Spirit Charmers, Magistus, and the current Seeker of Sinful Spoils lineup scheduled from August through December 2026.

At the time of writing, the official THE CHRONICLES site still presents Seeker of Sinful Spoils as its newest listed storyline and has not yet added a dedicated Evil★Twin section. The September 7 X announcement is therefore currently the primary official source for the January 2027 plan.

Episode Titles, Cast and Story Details Remain Unannounced

Although the episode count is confirmed, most of the Evil★Twin production details remain open.

KONAMI has not announced the titles of the three episodes, so it remains unknown whether all three will share one arc name with numbered installments or receive individual subtitles.

No cast list has been published either. There is therefore currently no verified basis for assigning voices to Ki-sikil, Lil-la or any other characters that may appear in the 2027 animation.
