Second Trailer, PlayStation Announcement and Steam

Karia Can Switch Between More Than Eight Styles
The centerpiece of the latest update is Style Change, an extension of Karia's unusual ability to eat a wide range of objects and absorb new powers from them.
Styles can be unlocked through story progression, while certain forms can also manifest as Karia develops by eating specific items. Once a style has been unlocked, consuming the appropriate item during battle can trigger the transformation immediately.
Koei Tecmo says there will be more than eight styles, each carrying different statistics, elemental properties, abilities and drawbacks.
Ignis Style specializes in close-range Fire attacks. All of Karia's skills become Fire-based and her attack rises, but her defense decreases and Ice attacks become a weakness.
Mermaid Style instead uses Ice magic from greater range. Magical damage increases, while physical attack falls and Fire becomes its elemental weakness.
The system goes beyond battle. Ignis lets Karia smash through obstacles while dashing, while Mermaid allows her to move freely across water. Style Change therefore functions as a traversal system as well as a combat mechanic.
Noelk and Celes Join the Cast
Promotion Movie 2 also introduces two additional characters.
Noelk Schreiber, voiced by Shoya Chiba, is an inspector dispatched from an organization responsible for overseeing alchemical relics. His assignment includes monitoring the use of alchemy and reporting violations.
Despite his lethargic demeanor and apparent lack of interest in other people, Noelk is an archaeologist skilled at deciphering ancient writing, and relics tend to expose the curiosity he normally keeps hidden.
The second newcomer is Celes, voiced by Fairouz Ai.
Celes lives in a mansion within a settlement discovered in the underground world of Noctarem. She is described as elegant and composed, skilled at cooking and making tea, while also displaying a slightly offbeat side.
In combat, Celes relies on martial ability and a sharp katana. Official character descriptions continue to redact several major details from the histories of both Noelk and Celes, leaving their full identities deliberately unresolved.
Super-Giant Enemies Bring a Two-Squad Battle Structure
Atelier Karia also introduces battles on a scale beyond its regular encounters.
During super-giant enemy battles, the party is divided between a Frontline Squad and a Roaming Squad.
The Frontline Squad directly confronts the enormous enemy and handles the primary offensive. The Roaming Squad moves around the field, operating cannons and other mechanisms to support the frontline.
The two phases alternate.
Victory revolves around reducing the enemy's morale gauge. In addition to mandatory objectives, optional goals can appear, including defeating smaller enemies or activating facilities.
Completing these extra goals can unlock support options such as cannon fire, shelters and item projection. Skipping optional objectives can also create disadvantages, including situations in which the enemy becomes stronger.
The result adds an additional strategic layer on top of Atelier Karia's regular real-time battle system.
Alchemy Now Drives Combat, Exploration and Route Building
Atelier Karia continues to revolve around a single design idea: alchemy should expand nearly everything the player does.
Synthesized items can be thrown from range to gather resources or destroy objects. They can also be thrown at enemies to deal damage.
Certain obstacles require an item with the appropriate property or element. Even the materials obtained from some gathering objects can change depending on the item used to interact with them.
Synthesis therefore becomes more than preparation before a fight.
Players create items, test them in the environment, reach new areas, obtain different resources and then use those discoveries to expand their synthesis options again.
Karia's eating mechanic also belongs to the same loop. Specific foods and items can affect abilities, appearances and knowledge, while exploration can also lead to new recipes.
Mana Piece Synthesis Changes Results Through Material and Placement
The main alchemy system is called Mana Piece Synthesis.
Players begin by selecting a recipe and a core material carrying the effect they want. Each ingredient provides Mana Pieces with different shapes that must be connected and positioned across the recipe map.
Selecting the ingredients is only part of the process.
The shape and placement of pieces influence the resulting effects, meaning the same recipe can produce substantially different items depending on the materials and arrangement used.
Players can concentrate on strengthening one effect, pursue multiple effects simultaneously or satisfy particular placement conditions.
Some combinations can even cause the item being synthesized to transform into another item entirely.
New recipes can also be discovered through recipe fragments found during exploration or through Karia tasting things she encounters in the world.
Pricing, Premium Boxes and Early Purchase Bonuses Are Now Detailed
The standard Japanese edition is priced at ¥9,680.
The Premium Box, priced at ¥13,530, contains the game, an artbook, Extra Tracks, a set of nine water-resistant A4 posters and an early-distribution “Pioneering Team's Head Chef” costume for Karia.
The Special Premium Box costs ¥23,650 and adds an original A1 tapestry, a cutlery set and a Uni mascot keychain.
In Japan, the Special Premium Box is limited to Gust Shop, GAMECITY, Amazon.co.jp, AmiAmi and Sofmap.
The Noctarem Pioneering Preparation Set serves as the Early Purchase Bonus. It contains a Karia Special Costume—whose design remains unannounced—and the exclusive Training Metal Badge equipment.
The bonus is included with first-print physical copies and digital purchases made by March 10, 2027.
A Digital Deluxe edition is listed but its contents remain Coming Soon, while the digital pre-order bonus has not yet been revealed.
Why This Matters
1) Karia's ability to “eat anything” now has a much more concrete combat role
Style Change turns the protagonist's unusual gimmick into a system that affects elements, statistics, movesets and exploration options.
2) Alchemy is increasingly integrated into the field
Synthesized items function not only as battle consumables, but also as gathering tools, traversal tools, obstacle solutions and progression systems.
3) Super-giant battles operate differently from regular encounters
The division between Frontline and Roaming Squads introduces objectives and support facilities beyond simply maximizing damage.
4) A confirmed date gives the release roadmap a clear destination
After previously carrying only an early-2027 window, Atelier Karia is now locked to February 25 with Japanese physical pre-orders already underway.
