BrownDust2 has fully revealed its upcoming collaboration with the anime Chained Soldier 2. Following the latest character teaser shared on September 4, 2026, the crossover begins after maintenance on September 10, bringing Kyouka Uzen, Tenka Izumo and Ren Yamashiro into the game as its three main playable collaboration characters.
The crossover goes beyond the character lineup with a dedicated Event Pack story, two season events, Special Skins, Fantasia Square avatars, exclusive gear and a dedicated Burst progression system. Three Mato Defense Force Commanders Become Playable
The crossover is not built around a single representative from Chained Soldier 2. BrownDust2 is bringing in Kyouka Uzen, Tenka Izumo and Ren Yamashiro, three commanders who occupy distinctly different positions within the Mato Defense Force.
Kyouka leads the 7th Squad, Tenka commands the 6th Squad, and Ren stands above them as Supreme Commander while also leading the 10th Squad. Their BrownDust2 adaptations retain their anime identities through costumes, skill cutscenes and the original voice cast.
Akari Kito returns as Kyouka, Maaya Uchida as Tenka, and Kana Hanazawa as Ren.
Kyouka Can Be Earned Through the Event Up to +5
Kyouka has the most accessible distribution method of the three collaboration characters. Kyouka Uzen is obtained through a mission event, with enough rewards available for all players to raise her to +5 during the crossover.
She becomes available with the September 10 update and remains obtainable throughout the collaboration period. BrownDust2 has also announced Kyouka's exclusive UR gear among the free collaboration rewards.
That gives players a route to one of the crossover's headline characters without relying entirely on a limited pickup banner.
Tenka Arrives September 10, Ren Follows September 23
Tenka Izumo, the character highlighted in the video attached to the official X post, enters a limited pickup on September 10. She retains her identity as the 6th Squad commander and user of Ame-no-Mitori, with Maaya Uchida reprising the role.
Tenka also receives a Special Skin titled Special Date, scheduled to become available from the first day of the collaboration.
Ren Yamashiro follows on September 23. The Supreme Commander receives her own limited pickup and a Special Skin titled Role Reversal, both beginning on the same date.
The Event Pack Adds a Dedicated Chained Soldier 2 Story
The crossover also includes a dedicated Chained Soldier 2 Event Pack, meaning the anime cast is not being introduced only as collectible units.
According to the September livestream details, the story is positioned between Story Pack 20 and Master Pack 1 within BrownDust2's chronology. Other members of the Mato Defense Force's 6th and 7th Squads appear as NPCs beyond the three playable characters.
This gives the crossover room to build actual interactions between BrownDust2's world and the Mato Defense Force rather than existing purely as a banner event.
ETERNAL CHAINS and TIME TOSUBMIT Join the Collaboration
Two Chained Soldier 2-themed season events are scheduled during the crossover: ETERNAL CHAINS and TIME TOSUBMIT.
BrownDust2's title screen will also switch to a collaboration-specific design while the event is active, extending the crossover across the opening presentation, Event Pack, gameplay events, characters and rewards.
Collaboration characters additionally use dedicated items for Burst unlocks instead of the regular Burst resource. The event is designed to provide enough of those items to unlock all three characters through Burst Stage 3.
Special Skins and Fantasia Square Avatars
Beyond their primary playable costumes, Tenka and Ren receive separate Special Skins. Tenka gets Special Date, while Ren receives Role Reversal.
Avatars based on Kyouka, Tenka and Ren will also be sold for use in Fantasia Square. Each costs 1,000 Deco Coins or 2,000 Diamonds, although the collaboration avatars carry restrictions on equipping certain regular shared items.
