Trailer, Launch Songs and the Five Bands

Five Bands Share One World
The new release key visual brings together members from the five bands at the center of Our Notes. Each group has its own storyline, but all of them exist and develop within the same world.
MyGO!!!!!, Ave Mujica and Mugendai MewType connect the game with stories and musical activities already established elsewhere in BanG Dream!. millsage and Ikka Dumb Rock!, meanwhile, are new bands developed alongside the game.
Together, the main ensemble contains 25 characters. This gives the game room to follow several routes without treating any single band as its only narrative center.
The “five sounds, five stories” concept used since the game's early reveal remains visible in the release artwork: every group keeps its own identity while being positioned to gradually intersect with the others.
One Hundred Story Episodes Are Available at Launch
One of the largest numbers attached to the launch version is its story volume.
Each band receives 20 episodes, creating 100 band-story episodes across the full lineup from day one. Watching all of them is estimated to take around 24 hours.
MyGO!!!!!, Ave Mujica and Mugendai MewType allow players to revisit material depicted in their anime stories through a presentation and viewpoint designed specifically for the game.
The game also goes beyond retelling existing material. FROMTOKYO confirms post-anime stories, while millsage and Ikka Dumb Rock! receive entirely new narratives beginning from scratch.
The band stories use a Cinematic Story System, giving characters more active movement and expression. Selected scenes also feature completely new animation produced by Sanzigen through Nichika Line, extending the visual language already associated with BanG Dream!'s anime productions.
Gekiso Live Turns Multiplayer Into a Five-Player Competition
The basic rhythm-game foundation remains familiar to players of BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!, but Our Notes adds several new systems.
The biggest addition is Gekiso Live, a competitive party mode supporting up to five players.
A song contains three Gekiso Sections, with one of three challenge types selected for each section.
COMBO Gekiso compares combo counts during the section. JUST Gekiso measures timing accuracy, while LUCK Gekiso has players fill a gauge through notes before a randomized result awards points.
Placement in each Gekiso Section contributes bonus points to the final live score. Instead of simply comparing final scores after a song ends, multiplayer therefore includes smaller competitions while the performance is still in progress.
Assist Mode Opens the Game to Less Experienced Rhythm Players
Bushiroad is not focusing exclusively on competition.
Assist Mode is designed for players who struggle with rhythm-game mechanics. One example allows flick notes to be handled simply by maintaining contact with the screen while assistance is active.
Assist strength also adjusts to the player's ability, making it easier to maintain combos.
The game additionally offers Live2D Mode, MV Mode, and Lightweight Mode. Players can choose richer character presentation, play charts over music videos, or reduce visual effects for a lighter setup.
Chart options are also more granular, including note speed, timing adjustment, chart-position changes, mirrored charts and FAST/SLOW displays. The overall approach is intended to accommodate players arriving primarily for the story or music as well as those focused on accuracy and higher-level play.
The Launch Library Mixes Originals and Popular Covers
The official launch-song list has also begun to take shape.
Original tracks confirmed in the launch lineup include 迷星叫 from MyGO!!!!! and KiLLKiSS from Ave Mujica alongside TearJerker, カーネーションの咲く日に, and ホーミー・タイッ!! from the wider band lineup.
The cover selection reaches across different eras and styles.
MyGO!!!!! performs シャルル, Ave Mujica takes on 残酷な天使のテーゼ, Mugendai MewType has オリオンをなぞる, millsage performs Pretender, and Ikka Dumb Rock! covers イケナイ太陽.
Google Play also makes clear that the catalogue will extend beyond these examples, with additional cover songs still to be announced.
With five bands built around different musical identities, covers offer an immediate way to hear how familiar material changes when interpreted by each group.
Global Pre-Registration Has Passed 1.6 Million
Ahead of launch, global pre-registration has surpassed 1.6 million users.
Earlier milestones unlocked several rewards, including a total of 4,000 Stars, equivalent to 20 pulls, at 500,000 registrations, three Song Tickets at 600,000, and an SR-or-higher guaranteed ticket at 700,000.
At 800,000, players unlocked an EX-rarity Snap support card using the pre-registration key visual. Reaching 1 million made Mission Pass Season 1 free for everyone for one month after launch, with no automatic renewal.
The 1.5 million milestone grants a [Release Celebration] SSR Guaranteed Gacha Ticket, while reaching 1.6 million adds another Gacha Ticket.
The campaign remains active until formal service begins. If registrations reach 2 million, all players will receive a [Release Celebration] SSR Member Guaranteed Gacha Ticket, guaranteeing an SSR from the member category.
The App Store Date Currently Differs From the Official Announcement
One store detail needs to be separated from the formal service date.
At the time of verification, the Japanese App Store page displays September 22, 2026 as its expected availability date. Bushiroad's newer September 13 announcement, however, explicitly sets September 24, 2026 as the official launch date for BanG Dream! Our Notes.
This article therefore uses September 24 as the service-launch date. No official explanation was found for why the App Store metadata currently shows September 22, so that listing is not being treated as a change to Bushiroad's announcement.
A separate global version was previously announced for 2026 with bilibili game publishing and distributing it, alongside English, Traditional Chinese and Korean language support. The verified official global page, however, still lists only a general 2026 launch window rather than September 24.
For that reason, the September 24 date here refers specifically to the launch confirmed through the latest Japanese announcement and is not being extrapolated to every global region without further confirmation.
Why This Matters
1) The launch build already contains a major amount of story content
One hundred episodes and roughly 24 hours of narrative means Our Notes is not beginning with a short introductory chapter for its five bands.
2) The established and new bands serve different narrative functions
MyGO!!!!!, Ave Mujica and Mugendai MewType carry continuity from their anime stories, while millsage and Ikka Dumb Rock! provide routes that can begin entirely from scratch.
3) Multiplayer goes beyond a conventional score race
Gekiso Live places COMBO, LUCK and JUST challenges inside the song itself, changing what players are competing over during a performance.
4) Accessibility is part of the launch design
Assist Mode and three presentation modes give players who arrive for story or music room to participate without immediately mastering more difficult charts.
