Volume 4 Covers

Two Different Covers for the Same Release

The regular and special editions take visibly different approaches. The standard cover keeps Haimiya close to the series' everyday school atmosphere, while the special edition places her in a maid outfit.

Both editions launch on November 6. The special edition is not simply an alternate-cover release, however, as it also includes a separate physical bonus.

Special Edition Includes a 44-Page Full-Color Booklet

Square Enix describes Volume 4 as the first special edition in the history of Haimiya Is Scary Cute. Priced at 1,518 yen, it includes a 44-page full-color booklet.

The booklet contains more than 45 illustrations, including new artwork drawn specifically by Sumu Kamiyama and color illustrations that have not previously appeared in the collected manga volumes. School-uniform and street-style illustrations are among the material included.

The regular edition will remain available separately for 792 yen.

Arriving After a Third-Place Next Manga Awards Finish

Volume 4 follows another major milestone for the series: Haimiya Is Scary Cute placed third in the Web Manga Category at the Next Manga Awards 2026, earning 45,281 points.

The manga continues on Manga UP! with Thursday updates. Square Enix also publishes it internationally through Manga UP! Global under the official English title Haimiya Is Scary Cute.

Why This Matters

1) Each edition has its own visual identity

The regular version stays closer to Haimiya's school-life image, while the special edition gives her a markedly different maid-outfit cover.

2) It is the series' first special edition

Volume 4 is the first release to add a separate premium package and booklet.

3) The booklet is substantial

At 44 full-color pages and more than 45 illustrations, the bonus is closer to a compact illustration collection than a minor insert.
