Kimodameshi Online now has an official Steam page ahead of its planned late October 2026 release. Developed by Panda with design by Uzumi Tsumiki, the multiplayer horror game turns a nighttime test of courage inside an old Japanese school into a livestream.
Survival is only part of the idea. Players film paranormal activity, scream, run and create memorable moments to grow their concurrent audience and subscriber count—while someone in the group may secretly be working to make the stream even more terrifying.

Trailer, Steam and the Haunted School

Fear Becomes Content for the Stream
The basic loop sends players into the school to find paranormal events and record them for their broadcast.
Getting scared is useful. More footage and dangerous situations raise the audience, with subscribers calculated at the end of the round.
Rather than focusing on a conventional victory condition, the game turns channel growth into its persistent result.
Traitors Can Build the Horror Themselves
A possessed traitor hides among the group. They can blend in before moving through walls, placing traps and sabotaging the stream.
Other players can vote on someone they suspect. A traitor who receives a majority vote can no longer manifest and attack.
One detail remains inconsistent: the official website currently lists one or two traitors, while Steam describes one to three.
Proximity Voice Makes Separation Dangerous
Communication follows player position. Voices become muffled through walls and barely carry between different floors.
That matters because a downed player only has one minute to be revived. Being separated is dangerous not only because of the supernatural threat, but because teammates may simply be unable to hear you.
The School Changes Every Round
Classroom layouts and item locations change between sessions, preventing players from relying entirely on a memorized route.
A default round includes 60 seconds of preparation and 10 minutes of exploration, both of which can be adjusted by the host.
Why This Matters
1) Fear is tied directly to progression
Players benefit when the stream becomes more chaotic rather than when everything goes safely.
2) The traitor can act like a horror director
Their job is not simply to eliminate others, but to create traps and moments that disrupt the broadcast.
3) Voice chat is part of the horror system
Distance, walls and floors directly affect communication.
