Anime Revealed at Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival

The announcement arrived near the end of Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026 as the imprint revealed several new developments for its current series.

For Kochimatsu, the official wording describes an anime adaptation project currently in progress. An announcement PV accompanied the reveal, but it does not yet identify the animation studio, cast, production staff or release schedule.

Author 逢縁奇演 subsequently thanked readers for supporting the series and said he would continue supporting the project as it moves toward animation.

A World Already Living Through Its Apocalypse

Kochimatsu takes place in a world that is secretly being destroyed by unexplained entities and phenomena collectively known as “Endings.”

These threats can take wildly different forms, ranging from strange beings hidden in recognizable locations to events operating on far greater scales.

Behind ordinary life, heavily armed students fight to keep these disasters at bay. Their mission is not always to eliminate an Ending entirely, but to delay destruction long enough for humanity to continue living.

From Light Novel to Manga and Now Anime

Dengeki Bunko published the first novel on July 10, 2024. The series has since expanded to six volumes, with Volume 6 arriving in July 2026.

A manga adaptation illustrated by 桜井寛 also runs through Shonen Ace Plus. Its first collected volume launched in October 2025, followed by Volume 2 in July 2026.

The series has also appeared prominently in light-novel rankings, including Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! and a sixth-place Bunko finish in the Next Light Novel Award 2025.

Production Details Remain Under Wraps

The first announcement primarily confirms that the adaptation itself is moving forward.

It has not been specified whether the project will be a television series, film or another format. The studio, director, core staff, cast, episode count, theme songs and release window all remain unannounced.

For now, the announcement visual and PV serve as the opening step before more concrete production information arrives.

Why This Matters

1) A relatively new Dengeki Bunko series is moving quickly into anime

The light novel began in July 2024, with the adaptation project announced a little over two years later.

2) Its school life sits inside an apocalyptic-scale setting

World-threatening battles exist alongside teenage relationships, romance and the desire to experience an ordinary youth.

3) The series now spans multiple media

Light novels, manga and the newly announced anime project give Kochimatsu a broader media-mix presence.
