Official Announcement and Volume 3 Cover

Print and Digital Editions Arrive Together
Shueisha will release Osananananajimi Volume 3 on August 19, 2026. The physical B6 edition contains 178 pages and is priced at 792 yen including tax.
The digital edition is scheduled for the same day. BOOK WALKER has opened digital preorders, while Shueisha and S-MANGA list ISBN 978-4-08-894309-1 for the printed book.
No official English, Indonesian, or wider international physical edition has been announced. Volume 3 currently remains a Japanese publication.
Four Childhood Friends Stay at Zuu's Villa
The official synopsis brings together Yuichi, Sumi, Etchan, and Zuu, the four childhood friends collectively known as “nananana,” for a summer vacation at Zuu's villa.
They will spend the trip under the same roof. The setting removes them from their school routine and gives the group more uninterrupted time to talk and take part in activities together.
The synopsis does not reveal the exact incidents that will happen at the villa. Its suggestion that something is bound to occur instead places the four characters' shared time at the center of Volume 3.
Any major change in their relationships or a specific romantic confession therefore remains unconfirmed before the book's release.
The Cover Features Sumi and Etchan
The Volume 3 cover presents Sumi and Etchan in a close and relaxed composition. Its yellow palette and their expressions match the summer setting introduced in the official synopsis.
A small photograph appears between them, reinforcing the series' focus on memories and the history shared by the childhood-friend group. Yuichi and Zuu are not the main figures on the cover, although both remain part of the volume's story.
Nene Yukimori also referred to the summer clothing when revealing the artwork. The complete context of the illustrated moment, however, cannot be confirmed from the cover alone.
Yuichi and Sumi Remain the Story's Foundation
Osananananajimi follows Yuichi and Sumi, childhood friends who once spent nearly all of their time together. Their relationship gradually became distant as they grew older until an unexpected opportunity led them to speak again.
The manga develops their connection through brief conversations, awkward pauses, and memories that have never fully disappeared. Rather than immediately moving toward a confession, it follows the process of learning how to approach someone who feels both familiar and distant.
Etchan and Zuu expand that relationship into a group of four longtime friends. Volume 3's summer trip allows every member of “nananana” to interact beyond the limits of their normal school schedule.
Volumes 1 and 2 Receive Additional Printings
The official series account and Nene Yukimori confirmed that both earlier volumes have received additional printings ahead of Volume 3.
Volume 1 was released on December 18, 2025, and introduced the renewed contact between Yuichi and Sumi. Volume 2 followed on March 18, 2026, continuing their relationship while bringing the other childhood friends further into the story.
No sales figures or print quantities were disclosed. The additional runs nevertheless ensure that more copies of the first two books are available as the summer story reaches stores.
Why This Matters
1) A new environment changes the group's interactions
The villa and summer vacation remove the characters from their classroom routine, giving them more time together in a private setting.
2) The entire “nananana” group moves to the foreground
The earlier story rebuilt Yuichi and Sumi's connection. Volume 3 expands its focus by making Etchan and Zuu central participants in the trip.
3) The cover gives Sumi and Etchan equal visual weight
Choosing both girls for the front illustration suggests that the volume's emotional dynamics extend beyond only its primary childhood-friend pairing.
4) Earlier books remain available through reprints
The additional printings allow new readers to begin with Volumes 1 and 2 before continuing into the summer-vacation storyline.
