Announcement, PVs, and Anime Visuals

The First Four Episodes Air on the Same Night
The Japanese edition begins on Saturday, October 10 at 8:00 p.m. JST through TOKYO MX and other broadcasters.
Instead of airing only its first episode, the opening program presents Episodes 1 through 4 back-to-back.
Its schedule then changes to a conventional weekly format. Episode 5 airs on Wednesday, October 14 at 11:30 p.m. JST, with subsequent episodes planned for the same Wednesday slot.
Streaming services will also receive the anime progressively, although individual platforms and exact availability times have not yet been listed.
The original version on iQIYI International contains 16 episodes, all of which are already available.
The New Teaser Visual Brings the Six Guardians Together
The latest teaser visual gathers the six members of the secret organization responsible for protecting cultural treasures inside the Forbidden City.
Soubi appears alongside Oboi, Heian, Zeze, Rohan, and Momo, each presented as an anthropomorphic cat wearing clothing influenced by historical Chinese design.
Their work extends beyond physically guarding the palace. They enter worlds formed from the memories preserved within cultural objects.
The concept itself draws inspiration from cats that actually live around Beijing’s Forbidden City, turning them into fantasy guardians of its cultural heritage.
Soubi Receives the First Dedicated Character PV
The first individual character PV belongs to Soubi, voiced in Japanese by Kazuki Ura.
Soubi leads the Gonekobo team and is regarded as its most analytical martial member. He generally remains calm when making decisions but also possesses an adventurous streak that drives him into dangerous missions.
He also has a slightly narcissistic side, providing a lighter contrast with his responsibilities as team leader.
The other five central characters will receive their own promotional visuals and videos in future announcements.
The confirmed Japanese cast is:
- Soubi (霜眉): Kazuki Ura
- Oboi (鰲拜): Makoto Furukawa
- Heian (平安): Sora Amamiya
- Zeze (小仔): Takeo Otsuka
- Rohan (魯班): Kentaro Tone
- Momo (么么): Hikaru Tono
Six Cats Protect the Memories of Cultural Relics
Hidden inside the Forbidden City is a secret organization of six extraordinary cats.
The cultural objects in the series contain memories known as Wuhua. When those memories are disturbed, the guardians enter the corresponding Wuhua World.
Their task is to defeat the destructive force called Black Owl and return each world to its proper course.
That structure allows individual missions to explore different historical objects, memories, and periods while maintaining a continuing adventure surrounding the six cats.
The original comic was created by 阿喃 and 呆兔 through Kuaikan Comics. iQIYI later produced the animated adaptation, while KADOKAWA is responsible for the Japanese-language version.
Why This Matters
1) Four episodes are available immediately
The opening broadcast gives viewers enough time to meet all six principal characters and understand the Wuhua concept in a single night.
2) Real palace cats inspired the premise
Cats living around the Forbidden City provide the foundation for a fantasy organization protecting cultural heritage.
3) Every cultural object can create a different adventure
The Wuhua system allows the story to explore different memories and historical settings without abandoning its central cast.
4) More character reveals remain ahead
Soubi is only the first member to receive an individual PV. Five additional central characters are still waiting for their promotional spotlights.
