The Switch Version Is Out, and Steam Now Has an Episode 1 Demo

The Nintendo Switch edition launched on August 27, roughly two weeks after the Steam version. In Japan, its ¥1,200 regular price is temporarily reduced to ¥996 through September 9.

Alongside the Switch launch, KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO introduced a free Steam demo that lets players experience Episode 1 before purchasing the full game.

Every Time You Wake Up, the Rooms Change

PLATONICA SPACE traps the protagonist inside a collection of interconnected rooms with no obvious exit.

Exploration does not take place across a permanent layout. After falling asleep and waking again, room connections can change, as can the items and characters encountered within them.

A route that worked during one attempt therefore may not be reproduced exactly after the next awakening.

Vigor Puts a Limit on Every Action

Each action consumes a resource called Vigor. When it reaches zero, the protagonist falls asleep and eventually wakes somewhere else.

Any carried items are lost in the process. Players need to decide which rooms to visit and which items to use on Memory Spots before another sleep resets their immediate situation.

The Memories May Belong to Someone Else

Memory Spots do not exclusively reveal the protagonist's past. Some fragments belong to the four other people trapped in the same space.

Everyone is suffering from amnesia, but each person's forgotten past contains secrets. Determining who owns each memory becomes part of reconstructing their identities and understanding why the group ended up there.

The others may offer helpful clues, but the game explicitly asks whether they should always be trusted.

ANMC Connects the Game With Music

PLATONICA SPACE is the latest title from ANMC, a KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO and Kazuhide Oka project that brings indie games and music together within a connected creative approach.

Kazuhide Oka handles scenario and development, Moe Katakura works on 3DCG and art, and agehasprings Party provides the BGM.

The Steam launch was also accompanied by the insert song “Goodnight Healer feat. Yuka Nagase,” continuing ANMC's approach of treating music as part of the project's identity rather than an unrelated promotional extra.

Why This Matters

1) The shifting rooms are tied directly to the mystery

Changing layouts make route planning and item management part of the process of reconstructing memories.

2) Finding a memory does not automatically provide an answer

A fragment may belong to any of the five trapped people, so identifying its owner and context becomes part of solving the mystery.

3) There are now two easier ways to try it

The Switch version makes the game portable on Nintendo hardware, while PC and Mac users can now sample Episode 1 for free through Steam.
