Star Detective Precure! will bring an Ojamajo Doremi collaboration directly into its main story with Episode 39, “Ojamajo na Halloween♪,” scheduled to air in Japan on October 25, 2026.
Rather than literally merging the two fictional worlds, the production uses Star Detective Precure!'s 1999 setting. Ojamajo Doremi is treated as a popular TV anime airing during that period, allowing Anna and the CUREtto Detective Agency members to dress as witch apprentices for Halloween without turning Doremi herself into a character physically existing inside the Precure world.

Star Detective Precure! x Ojamajo Doremi Collaboration Visual

Halloween 1999 Connects the Two Series
The collaboration builds directly on one of Star Detective Precure!'s central ideas: Anna comes from 2027 but has been transported to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.
That year overlaps with the original broadcast of Ojamajo Doremi. The production therefore presents Doremi as a television anime known by people inside the story instead of opening a literal multiverse crossover.
Producer Soya Aramaki explained that the approach provided a way to connect two otherwise separate worlds through the show's 1999 setting.
Anna and Her Friends Become Witch Apprentices
Episode 39 begins with Anna and her friends preparing costumes and decorations for Halloween. Anna's suggestion leads the shopping district to hold its first Halloween event.
All four CUREtto Detective Agency members wear costumes directly inspired by Ojamajo Doremi, with official materials even giving them Doremi-style nicknames: Annacchi, Mikurucchi, Kureacchi, and Lulukacchi.
Their festival activities are interrupted when they meet a young girl named Hinano, bringing the episode back into Star Detective Precure!'s usual mystery structure.
Agesene Steals a Broom Containing a Makoto Jewel
Hinano carries an important broom containing a Makoto Jewel. Agesene appears disguised as a witch and steals it.
Anna and the others pursue her, only for the witch's trail to disappear. They deduce that Agesene must have changed costumes while escaping.
Because their own disguises have already been seen, the Precure group changes costumes as well—allowing the Ojamajo Doremi homage to become part of the actual mystery rather than remaining simple promotional imagery.
Yoshihiko Umakoshi Draws the Collaboration Visual
The crossover also receives a newly drawn illustration by Yoshihiko Umakoshi, the original character concept designer for Ojamajo Doremi.
The artwork places Cure Answer together with Doremi and includes two different facial-expression versions for Cure Answer. Aramaki says the variations are being used according to the collaboration's promotional rollout.
Original Ojamajo Doremi producer Hiromi Seki also participated in the project, with the 1999 setting providing a natural bridge between two generations of Toei Animation's Sunday morning programming.
Why This Matters
1) The crossover follows Star Detective Precure!'s own world logic
Ojamajo Doremi is not retroactively inserted into Precure lore. It appears exactly as it would in 1999: as a TV anime being watched by people.
2) The collaboration is part of Episode 39's actual story
The Doremi-inspired outfits connect directly to Halloween, disguises, and the investigation surrounding Agesene.
3) Yoshihiko Umakoshi returns to draw Doremi
The new collaboration art comes directly from Ojamajo Doremi's original character concept designer.

The collaboration remains a one-episode special. Doremi herself does not physically enter the Precure world, but the legacy of the 1999 series is directly represented through the story, costumes, and new Yoshihiko Umakoshi artwork.
