Release Announcement, Launch Trailer, and Visual

The First Numbered Entry in 11 Years
Compile Heart describes Chōshinjikū Geimu Neputūnu Unlimited as the first new numbered Neptunia title in 11 years.
The August 27 Japanese launch covers PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. PlayStation Japan's release post naturally focuses on PS5 and PS4, but the two Nintendo versions launched on the same day.
PS4 is the exception for physical availability, as that platform only receives the Standard and Digital Deluxe editions digitally.
A Giant Meteor Starts Neptune's “Retry”
The story begins with the first meteor, an event heralding the end of the world.
As everything falls into despair, Neptune finds herself alone inside a white space. A mysterious voice and a number engraved on her cheek signal that she has another chance to challenge the apocalypse.
Her “Retry” activates a cycle of endings and beginnings as Neptune and her allies move toward what the story calls the true end.
The Goddesses Can Finally Fly Freely
Flight is one of the clearest changes to the core game.
While transformed, characters can move freely through the air, reach elevated locations, take aerial routes, and use Air Dash for much faster traversal.
Dungeons combine ground and airborne routes. Encountering an enemy while flying can also transition directly into combat without forcing the character back onto the ground.
Goddess Form Now Defines the Combat System
Transformation is no longer framed as a brief power-up players need to preserve for special moments.
Goddess Form can be triggered with one button and maintained until the player cancels it or the character loses all HP.
Combat also includes Combo Skills, character-specific Trigger Skills, and Exe Drive attacks powered by their own gauge and accompanied by dedicated finishing animations.
Eleven Goddesses Unite for End Battles
Apocalypse bosses operate on a scale beyond normal encounters.
During 終末対抗バトル, players deploy a total of 11 Goddesses against enormous enemies, with deployment order becoming part of the strategy.
Bosses can move their weak points, summon massive meteor showers, and introduce unique encounter rules. Each Goddess also carries an End Counter Skill that can only be used once during the battle to counter a major attack or reverse a dangerous situation.
Rouge, Ciel, Anna, and Lot Represent a New Generation
Gamindustri's Guardians have changed as well.
Rouge is Sweenia's new Guardian and transforms into Red Heart, while Ciel protects Lastation as Blue Heart.
Leanbox is represented by twin sisters Anna and Lot, who can only transform when together, combining into the single Goddess Eclipse Heart.
They join Neptune and the established cast in a story built around both veteran and newly appointed Guardians.
Why This Matters
1) The mainline series is moving forward again
This is not another remake or side project, but a new numbered title after a gap of approximately 11 years.
2) Flight changes both exploration and battle
Goddess Form now affects how players navigate dungeons, reach items, engage enemies, and position themselves during combat.
3) The full Goddess roster matters in boss encounters
End Battles do more than increase enemy size, using 11 Goddesses, deployment order, and limited-use counter skills as dedicated mechanics.
