Neptune Repeats a World That Has Already Ended

The story begins when a meteor signals the destruction of Gamindustri. After the world is consumed by despair, Neptune is left alone inside a white space.

A mysterious voice guides her as a number appears on her cheek. That mark is connected to Retry, an ability that forces Neptune through repeated endings and new beginnings.

Each cycle brings different encounters, enemies, and failures. Neptune and the other goddesses must discover what is causing the repetition and confront the true end threatening their world.

Four New Characters Form Three Goddesses

Rouge is the newly born CPU of Sweania, the nation previously known as Lowee. She is deeply insecure and tends to isolate herself, but transforms into Red Heart, a confident goddess idol filled with energy.

Lastation is now governed by Ciel, a highly efficient genius who created a city-management AI named Lasla. Her goddess form, Blue Heart, adopts a more mechanical personality and wields a large double-edged sword.

Leanbox receives the twin goddesses Anna and Rot. They operate as a single playable unit and can transform only when they are close together. Their combined form is Eclipse Heart, a goddess with both Saint and Demon Lord modes.

The official promotion therefore refers to three new goddesses, while four individual characters are responsible for those transformations.

Flying Freely across Gamindustri

Goddess transformation now allows players to fly through the field. Exploration is no longer restricted to ground paths, as players can reach elevated areas, collect airborne items, and search for alternate routes.

Air Dash increases travel speed across the larger environments. Dungeons also include aerial enemies and vertical gimmicks, requiring players to consider height as well as horizontal positioning.

Contacting an enemy while flying transitions directly into aerial combat. Some locations prohibit transformation, forcing the party to investigate the disruption before gaining access to rare rewards.

Eleven Goddesses Enter the End Battle

Regular combat uses Combo Skills that adapt attacks to the opponent's range and weaknesses. Tactical Skills consume a gauge, Tactical Links connect multiple characters, and Trigger Skills provide abilities unique to each goddess.

Major bosses operate on a different scale. All 11 goddesses deploy during End Battles against enormous enemies, including the meteor and other threats based on the idea of a game over.

End Bosses can unleash large-scale special attacks. Each goddess receives one opportunity to activate an End Counter Skill, making character choice and timing important parts of the encounter.

Why This Matters

1) The main Neptunia storyline returns after approximately 11 years

This is a continuation of the core series rather than a spin-off or remake, updating both Gamindustri and the relationships between its generations of goddesses.

2) Exploration is no longer limited to the ground

Flight, Air Dash, vertical routes, and aerial combat give the dungeons a structure that differs from the ground-focused travel of earlier entries.

3) The established CPUs retain important roles

Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert are not replaced by the new generation. They serve as senior figures and fight beside the CPU Candidates and newly born goddesses.

4) Anna and Rot introduce a two-character transformation

The twins operate together and form one goddess, creating a different structure from the individual transformations normally used throughout the series.

5) End Battles deploy the full goddess roster

Boss encounters are not limited to a small active party. Eleven goddesses participate with individual End Counter Skills against large-scale attacks.
