You Became a Security Guard Because You Wanted to Protect Your Oshi
The protagonist does not join STELLARIA security because of career ambitions or stable pay. They have followed Hoshina Luna since her debut, and working at the agency entrance creates an opportunity to be much closer to their Oshi.
That immediately gives the player two competing interests. As an employee, the protagonist is expected to enforce security procedures consistently. As a fan, those decisions become much more personal whenever Luna's safety or interests may be involved.
Steam establishes this motivation directly: protecting the Oshi is the protagonist's reason for being there.
That also creates the game's central dilemma—what happens when the agency's own rules conflict with what the player believes is necessary to protect Luna?
