Fate/EXTRA Record has shifted the spotlight toward the opponents awaiting players in the Moon Holy Grail War. Its second character trailer, “RIVAL’s SIDE,” was released on October 15 and introduces several Masters and Servants who will stand in the protagonist's path inside SE.RA.PH.

Aniplex also announced a special trial event for November 7–8, offering selected participants approximately 90 minutes with a build covering a broader portion of the game than previous event demos.

Shinji, Rin, and the Opposing Masters Take Center Stage

“RIVAL’s SIDE” moves away from Saber, Archer, and Caster as the protagonist's potential partners and instead focuses on competitors encountered throughout the Holy Grail War.

Matou Shinji, Alice, Julius B. Harwey, Dan Blackmore, Gatou Monji, Leonardo B. Harwey, Rani VIII, and Tohsaka Rin appear alongside their Servants. Several Servants remain publicly identified only by their relationship to their Master, preserving the importance of discovering an opponent's True Name within the game.

Learning About the Enemy Is Part of the Game

A Fate/EXTRA Record round does not begin and end with a Servant duel. Players learn which Master they will face and then have several days to gather information before the decisive battle.

Discovering an enemy Servant's identity can reveal important clues about combat style and weaknesses, while Arena exploration and deck-building command battles form the mechanical backbone of that investigation.

Special Trial Offers Around 90 Minutes of Play

The special trial takes place on November 7 and 8, 2026 at an undisclosed venue in Tokyo.

Aniplex says the build allows roughly 90 minutes of play and covers a broader portion of the game than earlier event demos. Five sessions are scheduled with 30 guests each, for a total of 150 selected participants.

Applications close October 28 at 23:59 JST and are limited to residents of Japan. Attendees will also receive a non-sale clear file using the game's key visual.

Official Fan Kit Distribution Begins

October 15 also marked the start of the Fate/EXTRA Record Fan Kit program, providing official assets for online posts and video creation under its usage rules.

Seven distribution rounds are planned before launch. The first set includes logos and visual materials featuring Saber, Archer, and Caster.

After extensive introductions for the three primary Servant choices, the new material begins filling out the tournament itself.
