Houkai Sekai no Mahoutsue Shokunin Volume 5 Cover

Blue Witch Takes the Spotlight on Volume 5

The latest cover places Blue Witch at the center, featuring the character in a swimsuit. Kayahara's illustration depicts the dark-haired character relaxing outdoors while holding a slice of watermelon.

The surrounding trees and summer atmosphere give the artwork a lighter tone than the series' central premise of civilization's collapse. KADOKAWA has not clarified whether the illustration depicts a specific scene from the novel.

Another Newly Written Story Booklet Is Included

Alongside the cover reveal, KADOKAWA confirmed that Volume 5 will once again include a booklet containing newly written material.

According to the publisher's official catalog, the additional story exceeds 25,000 Japanese characters. The booklet accompanies the 296-page book, which is priced at ¥1,980.

The title and complete details of the booklet's story have not yet been provided in the latest announcement.

Second Crowdfunding Campaign Reaches ¥5 Million

The second Houkai Sekai no Mahoutsue Shokunin crowdfunding campaign on CAMPFIRE has reached its ¥5 million funding goal before the contribution period ends.

The project celebrates the novel's first publication anniversary and supports promotional activities, including transportation advertising. Contributions remain open until October 31, 2026.

One reward offers advance reading access to a secret new episode through a ¥7,000 digital course. This crowdfunding episode has not been identified as the same material included in Volume 5's booklet.

A World Without Electricity and a Manga Adaptation

Houkai Sekai no Mahoutsue Shokunin follows Ootori Kenshi, a man with exceptionally precise craftsmanship. When magical meteorites cause electricity to disappear from Earth, his skills become valuable in a world where magic begins to emerge.

Kenshi processes meteorite materials to create magical wands, combining technical craftsmanship with a post-apocalyptic fantasy setting.

The story has also received a manga adaptation illustrated by Futo Nori. The first collected volume was released on March 26, 2026, while Episode 7-1 became available through Kadocomi on October 28.

Why This Matters

1) Blue Witch receives the cover spotlight

The new illustration presents a relaxed side of a character living in a world transformed by the disappearance of electricity.

2) The booklet expands Volume 5's content

More than 25,000 Japanese characters of new material give readers an additional story beyond the main novel.

3) Crowdfunding demonstrates reader support

Reaching the ¥5 million goal shows that the series has a community willing to directly support its promotional activities.
