Back to Chaos Shows More of Everyday Life in KEMURI City
The newest trailer is not built entirely around combat. UNSEEN says the video also introduces new characters and everyday life in KEMURI City, expanding the world after June 2026's more system-focused gameplay reveal.
KEMURI City itself exists around the boundary between life, death, reality and the paranormal. Supernatural phenomena are not necessarily exceptional events to its residents; they can simply become part of normal urban life.
The trailer reflects that idea by mixing quieter character moments with high-speed movement through the city and encounters with supernatural beings.
KEMURI City therefore functions as more than a collection of yokai-hunting arenas. It is central to the game's identity: a chaotic vertical metropolis designed to feel strange, alive and unexpectedly familiar at the same time.
FOXWINDOW Reveals What Ordinary People Cannot See
One of KEMURI's most distinctive systems is the FOXWINDOW, or 狐の窓.
As a Yokai Hunter, the player can use it to perceive things hidden from ordinary human sight. Anomalies, yokai and supernatural layers of the city can be uncovered through this ability.
That means exploration is not limited to what is immediately visible on the street. The ordinary world and paranormal world occupy the same spaces without always being visible from the same perspective.
Discovering a yokai does not necessarily end with simply defeating it. Players can form contracts with these beings and gain access to their powers.
That leads directly into KEMURI's second major system.
Possession Apparel Changes Appearance, Movement and Combat
The powers of contracted yokai can be worn as Possession Apparel.
This concept connects fashion directly to gameplay. Wearing a yokai's power changes more than the Hunter's appearance—it can alter abilities, movement and fighting style as well.
The official website specifically emphasizes that these transformations affect the way players travel through KEMURI City. Previous gameplay footage has shown rapid movement across buildings, walls and open air.
Yokai contracts therefore function as more than a collection mechanic. Their powers can provide different approaches to traversal and combat.
KEMURI's fashion-forward character design ultimately serves a mechanical purpose instead of existing purely as visual styling.
Steam Reveals PC Requirements and 12 Supported Languages
The newly public Steam page adds several pieces of information that were previously unavailable through a full PC storefront listing.
KEMURI currently lists 12 languages, with English and Japanese supporting interface, subtitles and full audio. French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese are also represented through interface and subtitle support.
Indonesian is not currently listed.
The preliminary minimum PC requirements list an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1080 or Radeon RX 5700 XT.
Recommended specifications move to an Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6800 XT.
Both tiers require 50 GB of storage and currently state that an SSD is required. With the game still in development for 2027, those requirements may change before launch.
Hunt Yokai Alone or With Two Friends
KEMURI can be played solo, but online co-op is also an official part of the design.
Steam lists Single-player and Online Co-op, while PlayStation Store confirms one local player and up to three online players.
That means a party can contain up to three Yokai Hunters.
