KonoSuba Releases 10th Anniversary Autumn Audio Drama “Darkness Happy Halloween: Sanma no Kisetsu”

KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! has continued its 10th anniversary celebration with a new autumn audio drama. Part 1 of “Darkness Happy Halloween: Sanma no Kisetsu” began streaming on YouTube on October 16, 2026.

The original story is once again written by series creator Natsume Akatsuki. Following earlier seasonal installments, the autumn episode sends Kazuma and his party into another distinctly Axel-style disaster—this time combining Halloween with an inexplicable saury harvest festival.

Autumn Audio Drama and Special Illustration

Halloween Meets a Saury Harvest Festival

The premise immediately embraces KonoSuba's usual logic. Kazuma is spending a peaceful autumn day at the mansion when Megumin suddenly starts shouting about Halloween Night and rushes outside.

After hearing about an autumn event, the party visits the guild, where Luna announces something considerably stranger: a saury harvest festival requiring participants with unusually high Luck and the Steal skill.

Chris Joins the Harvest

The need for high Luck brings Chris into the event.

That setup leads directly into the episode's central joke. Kazuma is less concerned with monsters or a dangerous quest than with the absurdity of being expected to “dig saury out of a field” in another world.

A New Story Written by Natsume Akatsuki

The anniversary audio dramas are not retellings of existing anime episodes. The official project describes them as new original stories written by Natsume Akatsuki, following Kazuma and his companions through different seasons in Axel.

The autumn story also follows the established three-part release format, meaning the October 16 premiere only begins “Darkness Happy Halloween: Sanma no Kisetsu.”

The Main Cast Returns

Jun Fukushima, Sora Amamiya, Rie Takahashi and Ai Kayano return as Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin and Darkness.

The episode also features Sayuri Hara as Luna, Ayaka Suwa as Chris and Tetsu Inada as the Ruffian, with Sarah Emi Bridcutt, Mitsuhiro Sakamaki and Hitomi Nabatame voicing adventurers.

Why This Matters

1) Natsume Akatsuki is writing new anniversary material

The project adds original KonoSuba stories instead of simply revisiting scenes from the TV anime.

2) The autumn premise is unmistakably KonoSuba

Halloween, saury, Steal and a harvest festival somehow become part of the same Axel quest.

3) It adds new material before Season 4

KonoSuba Season 4 is scheduled for 2027, while the anniversary projects continue providing new content throughout 2026.
