Shinya Absorbs All of Alfiria's Magic
The story follows Nanatsuma Shinya, an ordinary teenager summoned to another world by Alfiria, the only daughter of a prestigious magical family.
Alfiria was previously celebrated as a gifted young mage. The summoning produces an unexpected result, however, when nearly all of her magical power is transferred into Shinya's body.
Her social position changes immediately after losing the ability that supported her reputation. Shinya, meanwhile, has no clear understanding of how to control the enormous power now stored inside him.
They must hide what happened while searching for a way to restore Alfiria's magic and return Shinya to his original world.
Physical Contact Temporarily Restores Her Power
Their investigation reveals that Alfiria can temporarily recover her magic through physical contact with Shinya. A kiss is one method of drawing out the energy held inside his body.
Greater intimacy allows her to access more power. The system directly connects the pair's developing relationship with the battles and academy problems surrounding them.
Alfiria is initially uncomfortable with the arrangement. Her need to regain her strength gradually makes her more proactive in asking Shinya for his cooperation.
Shinya is also more than a passive container. His contact with Alfiria begins awakening a hidden ability that may turn the formerly ordinary boy into a powerful fighter.
Living Together to Find a Way Home
Shinya and Alfiria begin living together because their goals have become inseparable. She needs her magic restored, while he wants to discover a method of returning home.
Their shared life provides the foundation for the romantic comedy. Outside their home, they must still manage academy life, magical battles, and the risk of others learning about Alfiria's forbidden summoning.
The published edition uses a shorter title than the original Kakuyomu web novel. Its central premise involving Shinya, Alfiria, the lost magic, and their relationship remains intact in Dengeki Bunko's official synopsis.
The publisher has not explained whether the book contains major revisions, exclusive chapters, or a different story structure from the online version.
The Cover Places Alfiria at the Center
The Volume 1 cover presents Alfiria in two compositions. The foreground shows her in a white-and-blue academy uniform, while a larger illustration in the background focuses on her expression in a different outfit.
Her flushed face and hesitant expression reflect the romantic-comedy element described in the synopsis. The promotional material also centers on her transition from a magical prodigy to someone who must depend on Shinya to use her power.
Shinya does not appear in the main cover composition. Its visual focus remains on Alfiria and the personal consequences of losing the ability that once defined her.
Why This Matters
1) Romance and the power system are directly connected
Shinya and Alfiria's relationship is not separate from the fantasy conflict. Their intimacy determines how much magical power she can draw upon during a battle.
2) Their positions of strength are reversed
Alfiria loses the talent behind her reputation, while the supposedly ordinary Shinya becomes the person carrying that power.
3) Their shared home has a practical purpose
They do not live together only to create romantic-comedy situations. They must study the magical transfer, protect their secret, and find Shinya's path home.
4) Hominamia gives the web story an official visual identity
The Dengeki Bunko edition introduces official designs for Alfiria, Shinya, their academy clothing, and the magical world first presented in the web novel.
