The announcement arrived through a super teaser revealing both titles. GOD VALLEY will be the first new ONE PIECE movie since ONE PIECE FILM RED, while BAAD remains almost entirely mysterious beyond its title, release year, and a logo handwritten by Eiichiro Oda.

Two Movies Are Already Locked In Through 2029

The announcement appeared immediately after the second-day main stage of ONE PIECE DAY ’26 concluded.

Rather than revealing a single project, the teaser established a two-film roadmap. ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY comes first in summer 2027, followed two years later by ONE PIECE FILM BAAD.

Both announcements currently refer to Japanese theatrical releases. International dates have not yet been disclosed.

GOD VALLEY Will Be the First Film Since FILM RED

ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY will be the franchise's first new theatrical film following ONE PIECE FILM RED, originally released in August 2022.

FILM RED ultimately became the biggest ONE PIECE theatrical release in Japan, reaching roughly ¥20.33 billion and 14.74 million admissions when its later encore run is included.

GOD VALLEY therefore arrives after a roughly five-year gap and during one of the franchise's most important anniversary years.

The Title Points Directly to a Major Manga Event

God Valley is already an important name within ONE PIECE.

Shueisha made the “God Valley Incident” the central subject of Volume 114, which collects Chapters 1156–1166. Its official synopsis connects the historical event with the Rocks Pirates, Roger, and Garp.

The movie announcement, however, has only confirmed the title so far. It has not established whether GOD VALLEY will directly adapt all of that manga material, expand upon it, or structure the film differently.

Summer 2027 Lands in the Manga's 30th Anniversary Year

ONE PIECE began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on July 22, 1997.

That makes July 22, 2027 the manga's 30th anniversary, with ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY scheduled for the same summer.

A more precise release date has not been announced, so it remains unclear whether the movie will open particularly close to the anniversary itself.

FILM BAAD Is Already Planned for 2029

The second surprise is ONE PIECE FILM BAAD, which already has a 2029 release window despite GOD VALLEY itself still being nearly a year away.

That year also marks 30 years since the ONE PIECE anime first aired on October 20, 1999.

The BAAD title logo shown during the announcement was handwritten by Eiichiro Oda. Its meaning, relationship to GOD VALLEY, story premise, and central characters remain undisclosed.

The Super Teaser Deliberately Leaves Production Details Open

The current super teaser functions primarily as a title and roadmap reveal rather than a full trailer.

No director, animation staff, cast, theme song, runtime, or global distribution details have been announced. The official film website currently highlights GOD VALLEY with “2027 SUMMER” alongside the BAAD logo.

As a result, theories about what “BAAD” stands for or whether the two films are directly connected should not yet be treated as confirmed information.

Why This Matters

1) ONE PIECE has committed to two movies at once

The announcement establishes a theatrical roadmap stretching several years ahead and uses two different franchise anniversary years as major release points.

2) GOD VALLEY connects to one of the manga's biggest historical events

Its title uses the name of an incident that now plays a major role in the manga and involves several of the previous generation's most important figures.

3) BAAD is being teased unusually far in advance

The 2029 film already officially exists, while its title meaning and story are being deliberately held back as a long-term mystery.
