X, Steam and Gameplay

OTAKU Plan Is Bringing Physician of Armiosion to Steam
OTAKU Plan announced the Steam edition of Physician of Armiosion on August 29 and opened the store page for wishlisting.
For the international release, Steam lists Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. All four support the interface and subtitles, while full audio is not marked as supported in the language table.
The release remains listed as Coming Soon. Its price, preorder timing, demo availability and exact launch date have not been announced.
Lexis Searches for the Truth Behind Armiosion
The story takes place in the Weinberg Empire, where doctors have been persecuted and driven close to extinction. Lexis is the last doctor to receive medical training from his mentor.
He leaves on a journey to investigate the plague that destroyed Armiosion and uncover why the practice of medicine was suppressed in the first place.
Traveling south through the empire alongside Patrizia, an inspector assigned to watch him, Lexis encounters people hostile to doctors, religious powers and unresolved conflicts tied to his past.
Six Heroines and Affection Can Change the Story
Across the incidents he encounters, Lexis meets six heroines with distinct backgrounds and relationships. Some may initially find themselves in direct opposition to him.
Giving gifts and talking with them raises affection. Character events then reveal more about each heroine's feelings and past.
Certain affection levels can even alter parts of the scenario. Further relationship progression can unlock special events, dates and marriage.
ATB Battles Without Conventional Level Grinding
OTAKU Plan describes the game as a classic command-based RPG, but its progression system does not ask players to repeatedly farm minor enemies simply to gain levels.
Instead, characters level up by consuming items obtained through the main story and side quests. Weapons are equally important because equipping one grants access to its associated skills.
Exploration materials can upgrade weapons and add new skills. Weapons and equipment can also be swapped during combat without consuming a turn, while battles use an ATB system and are designed to offer a relatively demanding challenge.
Diagnosis and Choices Change Quest Outcomes
Lexis' profession is more than background lore. Some sections ask players to speak with locals, examine patients, collect information and piece together clues before deciding what to do.
Player choices can change how quests are resolved and which items are obtained. Their effects may also reach other characters, including causing certain NPCs to become allies or enemies.
Steam further notes that some decisions can lead to major consequences including death or killing, tying the medical investigation mechanics directly into the branching narrative.
Flexible Difficulty and Up to 35 Hours of Playtime
Players primarily interested in the story and character events can choose a more relaxed difficulty, while harder options are available for those seeking more strategic combat.
Difficulty can be changed at any point. Official estimated playtime is 15–35 hours, so overall length can vary depending on exploration, side quests, relationships and player decisions.
For hardware requirements, Steam lists at least 8 GB RAM, DirectX 11 and 1 GB of storage for minimum specifications, rising to 2 GB of storage for the recommended configuration. Windows is currently the identified PC platform for the Steam release.
Why This Matters
1) Being a doctor directly affects gameplay
Lexis does not merely carry the doctor title in the story; patient examinations and clue gathering are integrated into decision-making.
2) Progression moves away from routine mob grinding
Levels come through story and side-quest items, while builds are also shaped through weapons, skills and exploration materials.
3) Character relationships can influence scenarios
The six-heroines affection system unlocks personal stories, dates, marriage and potential changes to certain story sections.
4) Steam expands the game's language reach
The upcoming edition adds English and both Chinese variants alongside Japanese, making the game accessible to a wider international audience.
