Conversations Become the Story Engine

RyzaChat:AI does not rely on one predetermined scenario that every player must follow from beginning to end. Activities are formed through requests made to Ryza, ranging from collecting materials in a forest to opening a shop or creating a new settlement.

Players can ask Ryza to gather an ingredient, synthesize equipment, use an item, attack a monster with an alchemical bomb, or travel to another location. The conversation is then reflected through changes to the world, game parameters, and later objectives.

RPG Mode is used when players want to advance an adventure and expand their story. A casual conversation mode allows them to spend time with Ryza without continuously pursuing objectives.

Ryza can reply through text, regular voice, or ASMR. The conversation style can be switched, while her expressions and movements change according to the context of the response.

The First Quest Involves Building a Boat

The opening section asks the player to create a boat that can leave the initial area of Kurken Island. They must speak with Ryza to identify the required materials, gather them, and complete the boat through alchemy.

Finishing the quest unlocks a world map based on locations from the original game. Players can then visit towns, forests, waterside areas, and other regions by telling Ryza where they want to go.

Items obtained through conversation are stored in the inventory and can be used later. When materials are missing, Ryza can explain which ingredients are required and where they can be gathered.

Exploration and combat consume stamina, which can be recovered through food or rest. Cole supports trading and the construction of boats and houses, while experience and contribution levels unlock further quests.

More Than 30 Series Characters Will Appear

The official website says more than 30 major series characters will enter conversations involving the player and Ryza. Confirmed names include Klaudia Valentz, Lent Marslink, and Tao Mongarten.

They are not presented merely as collectible images. Encounters with familiar characters may affect activities, open additional conversations, or move the story in another direction according to the player's ongoing session.

The world, map, characters, and setting follow the original game under the supervision of Koei Tecmo Games and Gust. However, the app is not a port of the first Atelier Ryza and does not directly reproduce its campaign structure.

Skins are also included as a system for changing Ryza's appearance. The available lineup, acquisition methods, and possible connection to in-app purchases have not been explained.

Visuals Are Human-Made While Text and Voice Use AI

SpiralAI separates its technology between illustrations, voice, and text. All Ryza visual assets are said to be created by people under the supervision of original character designer Toridamono, without image-generation or video-generation AI.

Ryza's voice is based on material recorded specifically for the application by Yuri Noguchi. SpiralAI's voice-synthesis technology processes those recordings so the character can provide spoken responses that follow the conversation.

Text is handled through the company's internal SpiralLLM model. SpiralAI states that it was adjusted using Atelier Ryza scripts and setting material that the company and rights holders are legally authorized to use.

The developer also says that user conversations are not reused to train the AI model. Part of the application's revenue will be returned as royalties to participating illustrators, voice actors, and IP holders according to the material used.

Pre-Registration Is Currently Limited to Japan

Pre-registration uses an email address entered through the official website. The page states that the process is intended for residents of Japan and is provided under Japanese law.

Registration is completed only after the user opens a confirmation email and presses the included button. App Store and Google Play product pages had not been published when pre-registration began.

The website now specifies August 18, providing a firmer date than the initial press release's broader August window. Compatible devices, minimum iOS and Android versions, price, subscription plans, in-app purchases, and supported languages remain unlisted.

Distribution in Indonesia and other regions has not been announced. Because the application depends heavily on free-form conversation, language availability will be an important requirement before a worldwide release can be confirmed.

Why This Matters

1) Conversation functions as a gameplay command

The player does not speak with the character only to receive a reply. Written requests can begin a journey, use an item, perform alchemy, construct a facility, or change the current objective.

2) RPG systems preserve the results

Inventory, stamina, Cole, quests, the world map, and contribution levels allow events from a conversation to persist as part of the game state rather than disappearing after a chat session.

3) AI use is separated by asset type

Illustrations and video are human-made, voice uses authorized dedicated recordings, and AI is applied to text and voice synthesis. The official website describes each part separately.

4) Familiar characters can join player-created stories

More than 30 major characters are planned. Meetings with Klaudia, Lent, Tao, and others can connect free-form scenarios to the established world of Atelier Ryza.
