Preview 02 and Gameplay

Clara Becomes Dreadnought Warhead

The first half of Preview 02 introduces Clara — Dreadnought Warhead. Instead of leaning entirely on the battle-dance visual identity associated with Clara, the new appearance pushes her toward heavy combat technology with thrusters and machinery-inspired effects.

The short gameplay footage still preserves Clara's close-range physical style. Thrusters accompany her movement and attacks, while certain landings create explosive effects around the point of impact.

That makes the change visible beyond the character sprite itself. Attack effects and movement presentation are adjusted to carry the Dreadnought Warhead concept directly into combat.

Vesper Takes the Crown as Crowned ACE

The second featured character is Vesper with her new Crowned ACE appearance. ChillyRoom presents this version of Vesper as a three-time inter-school league champion.

Its sports theme is immediately visible through the racket motif and competitive presentation. The official caption also makes Vesper's horns part of the visual joke and identity surrounding the new design.

Vesper is not a new v3.6.0 hero. She was already available in Otherworld Legends and has a separate hero DLC listing on Steam, while Crowned ACE is the new appearance being introduced through Preview 02.

Item Upgrade Returns to Build Crafting

The most significant gameplay portion of Preview 02 is the return of Item Upgrade. ChillyRoom says the system is coming back with new ways to enhance equipment.

The preview also specifically highlights the ability to transfer Fetters between items. That matters because Fettered Effects have become a permanent part of Otherworld Legends' item ecosystem.

Players therefore gain another layer of control beyond simply accepting the base effects and Fetter combinations found during a run. Equipment can play a more active role in shaping a targeted build.

Granular details such as upgrade costs, required materials, transfer limits, success rates or exact replacement rules for v3.6.0 have not yet been laid out in Preview 02.

Fetters Are Already a Permanent Part of the Item System

Item Upgrade returns after Otherworld Legends substantially changed its equipment ecosystem earlier in 2026. ChillyRoom previously made Oddment Resonance and Fettered Effects permanent parts of the game.

With v3.0.0, 100 items were available through the Oddment Fetters system, while remaining items were set to return progressively after adjustments. Special Item Reforging also returned in that update.

Bringing Item Upgrade back in v3.6.0 suggests another step toward giving players more control over equipment discovered during a run rather than leaving Fetter configurations entirely to what appears naturally.

Selenis and Multiplayer Trial Are Also Part of v3.6.0

Preview 02 is not the complete update. The central v3.6.0 preview had already introduced Selenis, a warrior from the Temple of Moonlight whose mechanics revolve around changing lunar phases.

Her cycle moves between Novilune, Demilune and Plenilune, with Moonmark and Moonblade interactions forming important parts of her skills and passive mechanics.
